About Us: Our History

The First United Pentecostal Church of Kingsland, Georgia, has been in Camden County since the 1980´s. The church was started by Pastor Freddy Baldwin as a home missions church. It hopped around from a house to a lodge among other places, until finally it took residence upon what was formerly a swamp. In 1990 Pastor Neal Blizzard was introduced as the new pastor of the First United Pentecostal Church of Kingsland, Georgia. From that point Pastor Blizzard and his family diligently sought to win the souls of the inhabitants of Camden County and the surrounding area. In 1999, Pastor Blizzard and the church decided it was time to build onto what was already present. The additions were significant with a fellowship hall and kitchen, a car port and paved parking lot, and an extension to the present sanctuary including a baptismal tank.

The First United Pentecostal Church of Kingsland believes in growth in numbers and in spirituality. From this church body we have seen people leave to go to other states as church lay ministers, pastors, and high school/college bible school teachers. Our church also sponsors numerous UPCI Foreign Missionaries. With our church located near a naval base our church sees many military personnel and family members. We try to reach out and offer comfort and support to the families while the military patrons are away by having the families join our church and getting invloved with the ladies, men, and youth/young adult ministries that are in our church.

We hope to see you and your family very soon in our services.

About Us: What is Pentecost?

Pentecost is not a denomination. It is a new birth experience. It is primitive Christianity made relevant to today's world. The people referred to as Pentecostal simply believe, teach, and receive all that transpired on that birthday of the church...Pentecost, 33 A.D.We believe in the one true and living God, maker of all creation; the all-knowing, all-powerful, everywhere-present.

We believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ, which declares Him to be the only begotten Son of God. Wherefore, Jesus Christ demonstrated both human and divine natures and attributes. As the Savior, He was crucified and died on the cross in our place to be the ultimate sacrifice for sin. He was buried in a tomb but rose again the third day, as the Scriptures foretold, and is now exalted as King of kings and Lord of lords. As God manifested in the flesh, He is true God and true man; in Him dwells all the fullness of the Deity in bodily form.

We believe in the original Apostolic plan of salvation, declared on the Day of Pentecost, the birthday of the New Testament Church, which includes faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, sincere repentance, water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ, and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit with the joyous experience of speaking in other tongues - just as the believers did in the first century.
